I’m Jess, herbalist, bowen therapist, mother, nature lover, and creator of amazing skincare products.

I have always in awe of and captivated by the natural world, so pursuing herbal medicine was a practical pathway that gave me the knowledge and inspiration to create SkinDoona, more than 15 years ago. I have personally hand-made every single SkinDoona product ever sold and now have a manufacturing space in Beaumont St Hamilton, NSW, inside The Lighthouse Health Hub.

Inspired by the healing properties of plants, I had been growing herbs and blending creams for family and friends to try for years before SkinDoona was created. I’d boil pots of green sludge on my mother’s stovetop and make poultices to test on my grandfathers diabetic cellulitis legs. (He’s now 101 years old!)

I’ve always loved to wildcraft ‘weeds’. I love chopping herbs and pushing them into a jar, filling the house with the raw, fresh smells of nature and I still make some of the herbal tinctures I use in the products today. This love of potions and nature extends today into my cream making. Pouring liquid extracts of herbs into my creams, knowing each one will carry the healing properties of plants into the world to help someone.

I believe nature's inherent wisdom contains the most unique unfolding, something that cannot be replicated or forced, but embraced and respected. Every single product I create is a reflection of this passion and belief, choosing the best combinations of herbs to ensure great results.

When I’m not blending creams, labelling jars, and processing orders, I can be found in clinic doing Bowen Therapy and Energy Healing, absorbed in music videos or instruments, maybe at a yoga class, or hanging out with my family, doing very ordinary but awe-inspiring things like walking in nature and looking at all the amazing creatures, taking the kids and dog to the park and making endless snacks for our hungry, healthy and growing little people! I feel very blessed for the life I have.
